Common questions
FAQ
What size DTH hammer do I need?+
The right hammer size depends on your required hole diameter, rig capability and application. As a guide: 4–6 inch for residential borehole and water wells; 6–8 inch for commercial and mining; 10–12 inch for large blast-hole and quarry. Contact us and we'll advise for your specific project.
Do you ship internationally?+
Yes. We export hammers, spares and accessories to Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, USA, Ethiopia, Sweden and other countries. Contact us for shipping quotes and lead times to your destination.
How do I order spare parts?+
All spare parts for PG hammers — pistons, valves, chucks, wear parts and more — are manufactured on-site and available from our Germiston workshop. Call or WhatsApp us with your hammer model and the part you need.
Can you build a custom drilling rig?+
Yes. All our drilling rigs are manufactured to meet the customer's exact budget and specifications. Contact us to discuss your requirements and to check current build availability. We recommend arranging a workshop visit to see a rig in progress.
What is the Rock Buster?+
The Rock Buster is our newest model — a 6-inch class hammer available in IR360 (8 spline) and QL12 spline shank configurations. It delivers improved penetration rates and durability across all hard rock applications. Contact us to enquire or place an order.
Can I visit the Germiston workshop?+
Yes — workshop visits are welcome by appointment. Call us to arrange a time. If we are currently manufacturing a rig, we'd be happy to show you the build in progress.
